I specialize in essays, adventure, luxury travel, lifestyle, and profiles. My stories have taken me to 115 countries on six continents, but I also love to write about my home, New York City.
My photos have appeared in Distinction, Elite Traveler, National Geographic Traveler, Art & Antiques, Executive Traveler, and my photo of Sir Richard Branson is on the inside cover of a special Virgin Atlantic Airways brochure.
I write mainly for national magazines and newspapers, and am a contributing writer for Elite Traveler and Art & Antiques, and the "Trips and Tips" columnist for Women's Running. I am a published novelist and my essays appear in Traveler’s Tales, A Wild Adventure Anthology, and The Walker Within.
I am the winner of the 2009 and 2008 First Person/Essay ASJA (American Society of Journalists & Authors) Award, NATJA (North American Travel Journalism Association) Award, Solas Award, and two-time Travel Classics winner.
When I’m not writing, traveling, or exploring Central Park and other NYC neighborhoods, I run, bike, hike, practice my French and try out my bad Spanish.
